Yeah. So what's up with the power going out for hours this morning? It only affected Napili and Kahana so we got in the car early and headed down to Lahaina for of all things super glue and water socks. Yup, someone broken something in the condo so we needed a little super jelly to fix that right up. Shopping went well and we found gifts for family back home on the mainland and gifts for ourselves. It's hard not to buy things here. I guess we are helping the economy so really it was our civic duty to help Hawaiian tourism.
We stopped by a little farmers market on our way home and found some interesting fruit. We picked up a dragon fruits s papaya but also noticed that the avocodos here look a bit different than back home. There's nothing like sweet tropical fruit. I can't wait for breakfast tomorrow because someone is going to cut into that papaya. And I can't believe we didn't get grandma that shirt. Truth people. It's the truth.
Pizza for lunch was just what we were craving and luckily we had enough power to cook it because the power went out again afterward. We had some more card playing to go along with it. We've run out of frozen mango so we'll have to switch to strawberry margaritas now. There may have been a few naps today. Not sure why we are so tired, but needless to say grandma wasn't the only one who caught some zzzzz (she was just the only one who had her picture snapped).
I learned the game George again and swiftly began kicking everyone's butt. I even sat out a few games while I nibbled on the dinner that T was making for all of us. Hawaiian Pineapple Chicken and Coconut Rice. Oh. My. Goodness. I was the only one who had seconds (nobody will ever question my Italian heritage - we take food seriously).
Grandma got her snorkel gear today (did you know they make prescription goggles so the vision impaired can actually see the pretty fish below the surface?) So, we are looking forward to that adventure tomorrow! It rained a bit today so it wasn't ideal for snorkeling. Let's be honest - it poured for awhile. We read, played games, shopped, and chatted. All good things to be done in paradise. Here's a little Maui sunset for you. Mahalo 😎
